"SPREE is an artist-network in the first instance based on friendship and communal interests in art. Not communal in a sense that we all work with the same subject matter, make use of the same medium or means of representation, but in a sense that we are interested in making our work communicate and enter into dialogue, and progress our practices through these meetings. A dynamic artistic practice needs to be based on a network in an artist community, and we wish to open up our individual networks to each other, and in doing so broaden the possibilities for new and fruitful contacts, collaborations and discussions and we can by the joint experiences, knowledge and curriculum we possess, create a stronger concept in order to create those possibilities for ourselves. By creating a network that is spanning across cities and nation borders, we challenge ourselves to explore different ways of communicating than the meeting and personal dialogue, such as email, websites and net based dialogue and video conferences and can invite each other to hold exhibitions, projects, workshops and seminars in the community that we are familiar with."
Nina Toft

In the exhibition WHERESDOPWERGOEFROMEHERE SPREE presents new works showing the members individual artistic practice. During the residency SPREE will make a site specific project.
